About Mr. Gay Hong Kong
Mr. Gay Hong Kong is a brand new pageant dedicated to celebrating the beauty and diversity of manhood in Asia’s World City.
Recognizing that It takes more than one way to be man®, MAN Asia Productions launched Mr. Gay Hong Kong in August 2009 as a clarion call to unite the city’s gay men in presenting a fun, festive and friendly image of the gay community.
Mr. Gay Hong Kong aims to fearlessly build interaction between mainstream culture and the contemporary gay scene. In doing so, Mr. Gay Hong Kong hopes to foster understanding, tolerance, and an authentic enjoyment of the similarities and differences that create a truly vibrant Hong Kong.
The winner of Mr. Gay Hong Kong is a fine, fit and youthful specimen of manhood who is a confident and articulate Ambassador of the city’s gay populace. He will have the honour of representing Hong Kong in the annual Mr. Gay World pageant, the next edition of which will be in Oslo, Norway in February 2010.
Become Mr. Gay Hong Kong
A prestigious panel of judges, made up of Who’s Who in Hong Kong society, will select the inaugural Mr. Gay Hong Kong.
There will be three rounds of competition, namely:
- Sportswear
- Swimwear
- Formal Wear with Final Interview
Physical fitness, charisma, and confidence are the main criteria for judging.
The winner of Mr. Gay Hong Kong will be the media face of the city’s gay community for one year and will have an all-expense paid trip to represent Hong Kong in Mr Gay World in Oslo, Norway.
Wardrobe, publicity, training, and a professional modeling portfolio will be provided to the successful candidate.

MAN Asia Productions is the brainchild of two good friends who have earned their Hong Kong stripes via the city’s nightlife scene.
MAN Asia Productions believe that It takes more than one way to be a man®, and is intent on presenting events by and for the gay community that are envisioned to cross over to mainstream entertainment.
MAN Asia Productions believe that gay men are men in every sense of the word, no if’s or but’s or and’s. Mr. Gay Hong Kong is the company’s initial venture into the colourful world of city’s social and cultural consciousness, the capacity and potential of which are truly endless.
